Lieutenant Colonel Ibrahim Naveen Zubair joined the MNDF on 30 June 1994 and assumed a career as an instructor where all servicemen are trained collectively.

Within this course of time, Lieutenant Colonel Naveen pursued specialized trainings locally and abroad. The knowledge and skill acquired were applied in different fields of expertise. Rank and experience were achieved with multiple fields of opportunities to specialize with. As an enlisted member, his exposure of military studies matured him to take interest joining officer corps. Following the completion of commissioning training, he endeavored in different titles of appointments. Subsequently, he attended his carrier courses such as Infantry officers Basic Course and Maneuver Captains Carrier course in Fort Benning, USA. Crisis Management, Law of Armed Conflict Instructor Course and Counter Terrorism seminars were also attended both locally and International within this period. With the rank of a Major, he was given an opportunity to command a Marine Deployment Unit (MDU). During the tenure of Commanding a marine fighting force exposed him to conduct different natures of operations. The unit excelled with outstanding results where the Area Commander had appreciated and recognized the MDU as the most blazing and distinctive unit. Within the same period, he was also the Secretary General for the National Shooting Association where Maldivian shooting teams competed regionally and globally.

Year 2012, he followed an academic program and graduated with First Class honors in bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Segi College Malaysia. After returning home, prior to his current duty he was appointed as Staff Officer for the Chief of Defence Force. His next work was at J3/7 Operations and Training as a Director for one and half years. Then he achieved an opportunity to complete his Command and General Staff College (CGSC) at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas where he also obtained a master’s degree on Management and Leadership from Webster University. Upon return from Staff College he assumed Deputy Commanding Officer at College of Defense and Security Studies at MNDF.

Lieutenant Colonel Naveen is blessed with a daughter and a son.
