LIEUTENANT COLONEL AHMED BOOLAAQ

Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Nazim is currently appointed as the Deputy Commander of Northern Area.
 
He joined the Maldives National Defense Force on 20th Jun1994 and completed his commissioning course at Indian Military Academy in 1999. He was promoted through the ranks and was commissioned as a lieutenant in 2008.
 
During his 26 years career to date, he was served in various command and staff positions generating through Battalion Chief Instructor, Tactics Instructor, Waterborne Instructor, Rappel Instructor, Platoon Commander, Training and Operation NCO In-charge, Administrative Officer and Bravo Team commander of the Special Forces and Special Forces Deputy commander.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Nazim has followed several courses in Maldives and abroad performed outstandingly in all courses that he has completed. He has followed Infantry Young Officer Course (YO’s) at Infantry School, Quetta, Pakistan. Special Operation Company Commander Course at Shijiazhuang Infantry Academy, China, Airborne course at Parachute Training School, Peshawar, Pakistan, Jungle Warfare Training at CIJW School in India, Black Cat Commando Training in India, Hostage Rescue and Counter Terrorism Course in Ganemulla, Sri Lanka, Special Operation in Combating Terrorism Basic and Alumni Course in Mac Dill Air Forces Base, Florida, Advance Security Cooperation Program at Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies and 70th Staff course (Msc, in Military Science and Strategic Studies) at Defence Service Staff College, Wellington, Tamil Nadu, India.
 
In recognition of his ongoing tenure of distinguished service, Major Nazim has been decorated on several occasions. Consequently, he has been awarded the Good Conduct Ribbon (Thrice), Long Service Ribbon, Dedicated Service Ribbon, Defence Force Service Ribbon, Special Duty Ribbon (Twice), Ribbon for Skill, 17th SAARC Summit Medal, Defence Force Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
 
During his career he has taken part in various operations carried out by his former unit and has completed several special tasks.
 
Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Nazim is married and blessed with a daughter and a son.
