Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan Achieves Rehendhi Award

Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan, counting more than 30 years of service has achieved Rehendhi Award for the year 2021. Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan achieved Rehendhi Award in the field of contribution for the affiliated occupation.

At the ceremony held at Rehendhi School tonight, Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan received Rehendhi Award at the hand of President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. “Burooj” awarded to the achievers of Rehendhi Award was handed to Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan by the first lady of Maldives, Fazna Ahmed.

Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan, who joined the service in 1989 is amongst the batch of first women to complete the training. From the first committee found in resolving issues faced by women in service to being a member of MNDF enlisted board, she has partaken in such throughout the duration. Her persistent effort and representation of the organization in different manners has seen her earn 8 medals and 8 ribbons. While having numerous achievements at the first volleyball and basketball tournaments held for women in the Maldives, she has introduced many women to the field of sports. Additionally, having a major role in forming a burial team for those we lost to Covid-19, she physically shared their task.

32 years of service of Sergeant First Class Nasreena Hassan proves women can endure serving in the military in various fields and encourages women to introduce themselves to this organization.

By the initiation of Gender Ministry, the government awards Rehendhi Award in appreciation of women fulfilling national service in different fields.
