A Maritime Logistic Base has been inaugurated at MNDF Kalaaseen Koshi

Land utilized at Hulhumale’ in provision of some services of MNDF has been named “Kalaaseen Koshi”, and the “Maritime Logistics Base” at the land has been inaugurated by Minister of Defence, Mariya Ahmed Didi.

The ceremony held was attended by Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abdullah Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, General Officers, and several other rank soldiers.

Maritime and Logistic Base allocates spaces for significant services such as, Small Boat Repair and Maintenance Centre, Boat Operation Centre for Coast Guard Second Squadron, Coast Guard Diving Unit, and Transport Service. Most Buildings at the Maritime and Logistic Base were built by personnel representing the mentioned units in providing essentials services during the pandemic of Covid-19. From the design to the interior works of these buildings, all works showcases talent of MNDF personnel.

Establishing manpower, resources, systems, and operational centres to make the
National Defence Force a better, professional institution that provides a more efficient service is one of the most important objectives of the current leadership. “Maritime Logistic Base” inaugurated today increases operational capability and paves way for broader and quicker services.

One of the most important services provided by Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME), all type of works for small boats, have today been allocated to be provided under one roof. These include, Engineering works, all works that needs to be done on the hull, and all services of communication and navigation.

Ease shall be observed as all services of attending to operations of salvage and saving lives, and incidents have been facilitated under one roof for Coast Guard and Coast Guard Divers

Advancements brought to Boat Operation Centre of Supply and Transport Service eases providing service at sea and makes the working environment much more enjoyable. Supply and Transport Service fulfils the role of MNDF logistics services at sea.

“Maritime Logistic Base” inaugurated today brings several advancements to the services of MNDF. This is a new chapter unfolded.
