Search and Rescue Operation conducted by Coast Guard in finding the missing crew of Alama-05

Two crewmembers of Alama-05 which capsized west of V.Fussaru on 3rd January 2022 were rescued on 5th January 2022 around 06:50hrs. The missing crewmembers of Alama-05 which capsized on its way from F.Feeali to Male’ were found through search effort conducted by MNDF Coast Guard by air and sea.

As the captain of the boat was still yet to be found, Coast Guard were unceasing in their search for the missing third crewmember, searching a total area of 7299.78 square nautical miles by air and sea. While Coast Guard sea vessels and air crafts were active in the search, owner of Alama-05, island councils of the area, resorts, Maldives Police Service, and flight operating agencies of Maldives lent their aid in the operation.

Modern equipment was used in Search and Rescue Operation held to find the captain of Alama-05. As no signs of the missing person was found, Search and Rescue Operation conducted by MNDF Coast Guard until the night of 08th January 2022, has been changed to a surface search.
