MNDF Futsal Challenge 2022 has kicked off

“MNDF Futsal Challenge 2022” MNDF has kicked off.

Guest of honor of the ceremony held at futsal ground of Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi on 12th March 2022 was Minister of Defence Uza Mariya Ahmed Didi.

Futsal Tournament consisted of all MNDF Units, veteran’s category, and women’s category is held with purpose of accomplishing amity amongst MNDF personnel, generating healthy and fit soldiers, providing an environment for the showcase of skills, and producing mannerly football players, coaches, referees, and match officials. A total of 22 teams from 24 units take part in the tournament, which are inclusive of combined teams. A total of 9 teams compete in the veteran’s category while 4 teams compete in women’s category. Including players, match officials, and technical teams, more than 650 personnel of MNDF will take part in the tournament.

A special song was presented by MNDF Arts and Ceremonial Service at the opening ceremony of the tournament. While the song was performed, the champion trophy was carried to the futsal ground by personnel of Arts and Ceremonial Service. The champion trophy was inaugurated and placed on the stand by Minister of Defence Uza Mariya Ahmed Didi.

A special match played between officers of Ban’daara Koshi and Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi followed the opening ceremony of the tournament. These teams consisted of Chief of Defence Force Major General Abdullah Shamaal, Vice Chief of Defence Force Brigadier General Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef, MNDF General Officers, and other officers. Team of Kalhuthukkalaa Koshi officers won the match.

Attendees at the opening ceremony of the tournament included Chairperson of Sifainge Family Mart (SIFAMA) Fathimath Firasha, President of Dhivehi Sifainge Club Colonel Hussain Ali, MNDF senior officers, and several other rank soldiers.
