Updated:

“Fire prevention week 2022” organized by MNDF Fire and Rescue Service has been scheduled for the upcoming Saturday. This program promotes fire incident awareness and is held before the month of Ramadan.

This is a program held every year in promoting fire incident awareness amongst the public whilst relaying messages most efficiently. Events of the program will be held at places the public visit most and at places with the greatest number of households. Fire safety information will be relayed by personnel of FRS using a “Kitchen Simulator” at the events.

Fire prevention week is held before Ramadan as it is a month recorded for several fire related incidents. This program intends to convey messages by FRS whilst promoting awareness. The program can be partaken by all public.

Program scheduled for 19th to 24th March will commence on Saturday (19th March 2022) at Rasfannu. Other locations the program will take place at include Villimale, Hulhumale Phase 1, Hulhumale Phase 2, Thilafushi, and fire stations established in areas of MNDF. Additionally, fire awareness information will be broadcasted via TV and radio.

While the program commences on 19th March at Rasfannu, an event of the program will take place at Villimale ferry terminal on 21st March. Events of the program will take place at Thilafushi on 22nd March while another event is scheduled on 23rd March at the fish market of Hulhumale Phase 1.
