New national record set in 10m Air Rifle Event at the Asian Rifle / Pistol Cup 2023 ongoing in Jakarta

A new national record has been set in both men and women’s category of the 10m Air Rifle Event at the “Asian Rifle / Pistol Cup 2023” ongoing in Jakarta, Indonesia.

New national record of the men’s category in 10m Air Rifle Event was set by Corporal Ibrahim Shifan, who achieved a score of 604.9. The previous record was held by First Sergeant Abdullah Mohamed who achieved a score of 595.5 at the 18th Asian Games held at Palembang, Indonesia in 2018.

Staff Sergeant Sharafiyya Abdul Rahman set the new national record of women’s category in 10m Air Rifle Event by achieving a score of 589.6. The previous record of this category was held by Lance Corporal Asifa Jaufar who achieved a score of 589.3 at the 13th South Asian Games held in the year 2019.

The previous national record of the 10m Air Rifle Event, Mixed Team Category was also renewed as Staff Sergeant Sharafiyya Abdul Rahman and Corporal Ibrahim Shifan teamed up to achieve a score of 592.3. The previous record of this category was held by First Sergeant Abdullah Mohamed and Lance Corporal Asifa Jaufar who achieved a score of 575 at the 13th South Asian Games.

A total of 12 Asian nations alongside Maldives including Malaysia, Nepal, Qatar, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, South Korea, Philippines, Japan, Kuwait, and the host country Indonesia will take part in the competition scheduled from 1st to 10th March.
